Texas International Terminals is a leading refining company that operates a 50,000 BPD crude splitter. We are seeking a highly skilled Process Optimization Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Process Optimization Specialist to drive innovation and optimization in our refinery. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving process improvements, working closely with a small yet innovative team to process diverse light crudes and plan for growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Optimize refinery processes: Focus on day-to-day process and project problem-solving to optimize our 50,000 BPD crude unit.
  • Provide technical support: Offer troubleshooting support, technical recommendations, and process procedures development to ensure smooth operations.
  • Enhance plant safety and reliability: Conduct studies to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance plant safety, reliability, and economics.
  • Collaborate with teams: Work closely with specialists and engineers of other disciplines to achieve common goals.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
  • Experience: 2+ years of relevant Process Engineering experience in a refinery or chemical plant.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication, excellent time management skills, ability to work independently and identify and solve problems.
  • Certifications: Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card, must possess and maintain a valid US driver's license, must pass all pre-employment testing, including a drug test, physical, and background check.
  • Preferred qualifications: Expertise in one or more of the following refinery process technologies: Distillation, Hydro processing/Hydrocracking, Hydrogen Manufacturing, Naphtha Reforming, Sulfur Recovery, FCC, Alkylation, Amine treating or Sour Water processing.

Physical Demands:

  • Work environment: Ability to work at elevated heights, including using lifts, ladders, and stairs.
  • Physical activity: Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Weather conditions: Work is done outdoors; must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
  • Prolonged periods: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
