Computed Tomography Technologist I:

JOB DESCRIPTION


The CT Imaging Specialist I role operates independently to perform a range of standard diagnostic CT procedures, encompassing both common and specialized CT examinations of moderate complexity.

This position offers direct support to physicians during all diagnostic and specialized CT procedures.

This CT Imaging Specialist I role is committed to delivering outstanding patient care while adhering to CT examination standards, radiation dose protocols, and guidelines established by regulatory bodies to ensure optimal patient safety and satisfaction.

This position is an integral part of the direct patient care team.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications:
Associates of Applied Science

Completion of an accredited radiography program

Completion of an accredited computed tomography program (including cross-training programs)

American Registry for Radiology Technologist (ARRT-R)

American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (ARRT-CT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board NMTCB (CT)

Texas Medical Board certification (MRT)

American Heart Association BLS

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Assists physicians during diagnostic or specialized procedures, including maintaining sterile techniques.


Utilizes AIDET principles and effective communication techniques when interacting with patients and their families at an appropriate level.

Adheres to radiation safety principles and ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) practices.

Follows safety protocols and executes all imaging procedures accordingly.

Maintains proper sterile techniques throughout procedures.

Complies with departmental and hospital safety standards, practices, and policies.

Participates in WASTE walks and supports departmental LEAN initiatives.


Reports near misses and promptly documents errors in the appropriate hospital patient safety reporting system to enhance processes and identify trends.

Conducts imaging equipment quality control (QC) to ensure all imaging equipment is safe for use prior to operation.

Employs critical thinking skills to monitor and address patient reactions (e.g., medications) or potential outcomes, seeking assistance as necessary.

Provides accurate and comprehensive documentation of patient procedures. Inputs charges at the time services are rendered.

Utilizes resources efficiently, avoiding waste of supplies.

Ensures personal timecard accuracy and approves it promptly to prevent retroactive amendments.

Engages in departmental projects or shared governance activities.

Seeks opportunities for professional development beyond baseline competencies with a focus on continual growth as a technologist.

Computed Tomography Technologist II:

JOB DESCRIPTION


The CT Imaging Specialist II role is an experienced technologist who performs a variety of moderate to complex diagnostic CT procedures, including both common and specialized examinations of high difficulty.

This position is a key member of the direct patient care team and demonstrates full competency in all aspects of CT examinations.

The CT Imaging Specialist II role serves as a mentor and trainer to the CT Imaging Specialist I and students. This position operates independently, exercising sound judgment and demonstrating above-average clinical skills on challenging diagnostic procedures. The CT Imaging Specialist II role provides direct support to physicians during all diagnostic and specialized CT procedures.

This position is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care while adhering to CT examination standards and guidelines established by regulatory bodies to ensure optimal patient safety and satisfaction.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications:
Associates of Applied Science

Completion of an accredited radiology program

Completion of an accredited computed tomography program (including cross-training programs)

Proficient in all CT, CTA, CT Perfusion, CT Cardiac, and CT Interventional procedures

3+ years of relevant experience
