Job Summary

Alternative Paths Training School (APTS) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Program Facilitator to join our team. As a Program Facilitator, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs in achieving their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Special Education Teacher: Collaborate with the Special Education Teacher to implement lesson plans and activities that cater to the individual needs of students.
  • Assist with Daily Living Tasks: Provide support with physical tasks such as using the restroom, hand washing, and daily living activities.
  • Implement Behavioral Strategies: Carry out proactive and reactive strategies, including crisis intervention, to promote positive behavior and support students' Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Transportation and Community-Based Instruction: Assist with transporting students between school and home, as well as during community-based instruction.
  • Maintain a Professional Attitude: Establish and maintain positive interactions with students, while maintaining a professional attitude and consistent respect towards them.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or minimum of 4 years of active military duty preferred.
  • Experience: One year of experience working with children, preferably in a special needs setting.
  • Skills: Patience, integrity, initiative, and dedication.
