Job Title: Experienced Lab Technician Level II

Stratas Foods is seeking an experienced Lab Technician Level II to join our team. As a Lab Technician Level II, you will be responsible for analyzing oil samples, communicating test results, and prioritizing oil samples as they arrive in the laboratory.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze a variety of oil samples, including income crude oil samples, samples from various points in the oil process, finished storage samples, and samples from tank trucks being shipped to customers.
  • Communicate test results to the facilitator when test indicates corrective action is necessary.
  • Prioritize oil samples as they arrive in the laboratory.
  • Complete truck paperwork so shipments can depart in a timely manner.
  • Record data in the appropriate written logs from a permanent record and as insurance against lost computer records.
  • Enter test results into an automated Quality Control Database for each sample tested.
  • Packaging line quality assurance.
  • Finished product and incoming material testing.
  • Storage of production retains.
  • Communicate with supervisor/lead person of laboratory results.
  • Learn operating procedures for new testing equipment as it is introduced to the lab.
  • Develop a thorough enough understanding of laboratory processes to be able to contribute insightful methods for streamlining processes.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three (3) years previous laboratory experience preferred.
  • Basic data entry skills required.
Work Environment:

The employee will be required to work in a laboratory setting, with regular exposure to chemicals and equipment. The employee will also be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent deadlines and priorities.

Physical Demands:

The employee will be required to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs, lift, bend, kneel, stand for long periods of time, work in confined spaces, and work with heights.

Sensory Demands:

The employee will be required to use visual, speaking, and touch senses, and must be able to taste and smell oil samples.

Mental/Reasoning Demands:

The employee will be required to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
