KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure a secure and efficient workplace environment through hands-on ownership of process modules in a vibrant, round-the-clock manufacturing setting. Conduct technical data analysis to identify root causes of issues, explore avenues for enhancement, align equipment with output, and assess the influence of processing on device performance and yield.

Work independently to meet objectives and enhance factory metrics while providing technical guidance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define challenges, set goals, and devise solutions, ultimately achieving desired outcomes. Engage in technical problem-solving, both autonomously and collaboratively, to address issues effectively. Establish accurate timelines for project goals and milestones, maintaining adherence to schedules or escalating concerns when necessary. Innovate solutions aimed at reducing costs, conserving time and materials, and minimizing waste within the manufacturing process. Assess risks associated with proposed engineering modifications, implementing appropriate precautions and monitoring during changes. Grasp the implications of processes on safety, quality, cost, and production output.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess a BS, MS, or PhD in engineering or physical sciences, with 3-5 years of relevant industry experience. The combination of professional experience and educational background will be considered during the selection process.

Previous hands-on experience as an engineering lead in metal deposition processes, particularly in PVD, is essential. Comprehensive understanding of metallurgy and metal deposition, ideally in PVD processing, is required. Familiarity with SPTS PVD equipment is advantageous but not mandatory for this position. Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE), fault detection and classification (FDC), along with basic RF and vacuum science principles is necessary.

Experience with data analysis tools such as Spotfire and JMP is preferred.

DESIRED SKILLS:
Proficiency in programming, including script writing and SQL queries, as well as experience in developing and executing qualification plans. Demonstrated use of structured problem-solving techniques is essential.

Flexibility to adapt to evolving goals, objectives, and company policies is crucial, along with strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively is required. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Windows-based applications is expected. Familiarity with Continuous Improvement principles and Lean Manufacturing practices is beneficial.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must. We are an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) / Affirmative Action employer and encourage all qualified candidates to apply.
