Job Title: Trade Settlement Analyst

Unipec America, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Trade Settlement Analyst to join our Cargo Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting and providing administration to our Physical and Paper traders in all areas of Physical and Derivative trade.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and verify all entered paper deals in our ERP systems on a daily basis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Check and reconcile physical and derivatives confirmations from counterparties and brokers, and alert traders of any discrepancies.
  • Verify physical and derivatives contract reports and settlement reports received from operators against trader records and the ERP system.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the market and related counterparties, grades, market movements, and instruments to provide expert support to our traders.
  • Work closely with the operations team to develop a better interface between the operations team and trading departments.
  • Support traders and analysts in preparing internal reports, filing documents, managing trading records, and market analysis.
  • Review and settle paper position/P&L with OTC counterparties daily, and perform monthly settlements.
  • Review and ensure alignment of internal systems with third-party data.
  • Perform paper monthly end closing with the Finance team.
  • Accountable for confirming Receivables & Payables promptly and recording and processing all settlements as per our internal procedures and processes.
  • Prepare and communicate payment instruction documentation to the operations team for delivery to various counterparties and customers.
  • Responsible for Budgeting and Forecasting by-weekly and monthly, providing support to Finance monthly.
  • Prepare Monthly Closing to reconcile all trades at the end of the month, supporting the accounting department and management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Experience with settlements and trading environments preferred.
  • Experience working in an international oil and gas company preferred.
  • Quick learner and keen to work in a trading environment where it is fast-paced.
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely internally and externally.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent written, spoken, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese is preferred.
