Front Desk Receptionist

We are seeking a skilled and friendly Hotel Guest Services Representative to join our team at Fort Pontchartrain A Wyndham Hotel. As a key member of our front desk staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that our guests have an unforgettable experience.
Job Summary:
- To greet guests in a warm and welcoming manner, register and assign rooms, issue room keys, and transmit messages.
- To keep accurate records of occupied rooms and guests' accounts, make and confirm reservations, and present statements to departing guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Display excellent communication skills to provide personalized service to our guests. Greet guests with a smile and offer assistance as needed.
- Room Management: Register and assign rooms to guests without announcing room numbers. Answer inquiries about hotel services, guest registration, shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.
- Accounting and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of room availability and guests' accounts. Make, confirm, and cancel reservations as required.
- Cash Handling: Compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests. Post charges such as room, food, liquor, or telephone by hand or machine.
- Communication: Transmit and receive messages using equipment such as telephones, faxes, switchboards, or computers.
Requirements:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Hospitality industry experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
- The ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment is crucial.
