Advanced Warfare Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Warfare Systems Engineer to join our team at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing cutting-edge combat systems that address the most pressing challenges in integrated air and missile defense.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop future combat system architectures, addressing associated requirements and interfaces.
- Develop and utilize analysis tools and scripts to conduct system-level trade studies and analysis of alternatives.
- Utilize system models and simulations to design and assess performance of new and emerging capabilities.
- Assess necessary functional allocations and data flows within systems and between systems.
- Identify, define, and mitigate technical risks associated with system designs.
- Create analytical products and effectively communicate technical findings and recommendations to APL leadership, government sponsors, and the engineering community.
- Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, math, or other related technical degree.
- Previous related professional systems engineering experience.
- Excellent technical writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, including engineers, scientists, and technicians.
- Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance.
- Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
- Experience with writing and using analytical scripts in either MATLAB or Python.
