We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Warfare Systems Engineer to join our team at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing cutting-edge combat systems that address the most pressing challenges in integrated air and missile defense.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop future combat system architectures, addressing associated requirements and interfaces.
  • Develop and utilize analysis tools and scripts to conduct system-level trade studies and analysis of alternatives.
  • Utilize system models and simulations to design and assess performance of new and emerging capabilities.
  • Assess necessary functional allocations and data flows within systems and between systems.
  • Identify, define, and mitigate technical risks associated with system designs.
  • Create analytical products and effectively communicate technical findings and recommendations to APL leadership, government sponsors, and the engineering community.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, math, or other related technical degree.
  • Previous related professional systems engineering experience.
  • Excellent technical writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, including engineers, scientists, and technicians.
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
  • Experience with writing and using analytical scripts in either MATLAB or Python.
