Job Overview

The Food Service Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing the daily functions of our establishment, which includes the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of staff members.

Additionally, this role involves managing inventory and procurement of food and supplies, maximizing profitability, and ensuring a positive dining experience for our guests.

The Operations Manager will report directly to the Area Manager on a regular basis.


Key Responsibilities:

1) Manage and supervise all aspects of the restaurant, making critical decisions regarding guest service.

2) Adhere to company standards and service levels to boost sales while minimizing expenses, including costs related to food, beverages, supplies, utilities, and labor.

3) Ensure that all financial documentation (invoices, reports) and payroll-related tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner, in line with company policies.


Food Safety and Compliance:

1) Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas, ensuring compliance with operational standards and regulations.

2) Guarantee consistently high-quality food preparation and service.

3) Maintain a professional image of the restaurant, including cleanliness and adherence to uniform standards.

4) Estimate food and beverage costs and collaborate with the Area Manager for efficient supply procurement.

5) Supervise portion control and preparation quantities to minimize waste.

6) Manage food ordering and delivery schedules with distributors.

7) Must hold ServSafe certification and adhere to all related guidelines.


Guest Service Excellence:

Our Operations Managers play a vital role in ensuring exceptional guest service. They address customer concerns promptly, taking necessary actions to convert dissatisfied guests into repeat customers.


Operational Duties Include:

1) Implementing security measures to protect employees, guests, and company assets.

2) Ensuring a safe environment for both staff and guests to minimize injury risks, completing accident reports as necessary.

3) Managing shifts that involve daily decision-making, scheduling, and maintaining standards of quality and cleanliness.

4) Investigating and resolving complaints related to food quality and service.


Staffing and Development:

1) Provide guidance to employees on operational and procedural matters.

2) Conduct interviews for hourly positions and oversee hiring, training, and, when necessary, termination of staff.

3) Conduct regular walkthroughs to explain company philosophy and oversee the onboarding of new employees.

4) Foster employee development through ongoing feedback and performance evaluations.

5) Maintain an accurate staffing plan and ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.


Community Engagement:

Qualifications:

1) Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel).

2) Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including food planning, purchasing, sanitation, security, and personnel management.

3) Valid driver's license required.

4) Eligibility to work in the United States.
