Job Summary

The Pre-Construction Senior Project Manager will be responsible for leading the pre-construction phase of grid scale wind, solar, and storage projects. This role requires exceptional project management skills, the ability to navigate complex problems, and effective coordination of multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the request for proposal (RFP) process for Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) services
  • Coordinate commercial aspects of all project-related contract negotiations
  • Support pre-construction activities, including site studies, surveys, preliminary engineering, and estimating
  • Coordinate internal project capital expenditure approval processes to secure budget for Project Delivery scope
  • Support internal stakeholders, including development, engineering, interconnection, and power marketing teams, with Capex input requests
  • Coordinate and manage key project stakeholders, including Balance of Plant (BOP) EPC contractors
  • Support major equipment procurement processes
  • Participate in the negotiation of key project contracts, including Major Equipment Supply Agreements and BOP-EPC Agreements
  • Ensure project schedules and costs are managed and tracked to plan
  • Continually assess project risk and maintain the project Risk Register during the pre-construction phase
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Five (5) years of project management and procurement experience in utility scale renewable energy or heavy construction
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) preferred
  • Experience with various project and construction management software tools, e.g., Procore
  • Demonstrated ability to be organized and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong Microsoft Software Applications skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)
  • Ability to adapt in a demanding, fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proven track record of managing projects with results that meet all stakeholder goals
  • Ability to problem solve and achieve results by setting priorities and staying organized
  • Results-oriented leader with the ability to work independently within a large matrixed organization
  • Commitment to the advancement of renewable energy solutions across North America
Additional Details
  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • This role requires attendance at a worksite on an as needed basis
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 25% of the time
  • U.S. driver's license/clean driving record, for the use of fleet cars, personal, and/or hire cars when traveling
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • Must be physically able to conduct site visits and attend project site meetings and walk renewable energy sites for extended periods of time in hot or cold weather conditions
