Job Summary

Community Residences seeks a dedicated Resident Instructor to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. As a key member of our team, you will create a nurturing environment, develop strategies to enhance daily living skills, and facilitate independent performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care to meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Monitor and report medical, physical, and behavioral changes to the supervisor and program coordinator.
  • Administer medication to clients as prescribed, following agency policy and regulatory standards.
  • Assist with meal planning, preparation, and cleanup, ensuring clients' dietary needs are met.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the residence, properties, and vehicle.
  • Participate in training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure confidentiality and adhere to CRI's policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED, with at least two years of experience in human services.
  • Valid CT driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift and transfer 70-75lbs, with a willingness to learn approved protective hold techniques.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a patient and nurturing temperament.
