Avionics System Integration Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Avionics System Integration Engineer to join our team at Amentum. As a key member of our Engineering Division, you will be responsible for managing the System Engineering activities for the Communication Low Orbit Project (Comm LEO).
Key Responsibilities:
- Support engineering flight project schedule, procurement documentation, budget, and system requirements documents.
- Develop and support sub-project requirement and verification data packages to support architecture requirements, design, verification/validation, operations, and sustaining engineering.
- Conduct product life cycle reviews, coordinate integration, verification, and validation activities.
- Work with requirements to align with hardware specifications while understanding the verifications.
- Perform system engineering functions of projects and provide user input feedback during the design process.
- Work with ground testing and flight operations testing of hardware with end-item documentation.
- Review verification and validation reports to verify compliance with requirements.
- Participate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews, and critical design reviews.
- Perform and review system-level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall electrical design and performance.
- Participate in test, verification, and operation of the as-built hardware.
- Work with team members and leads to identify risks, develop risk statements, and plan risk responses.
- Work and present schedule and progress to customers.
Qualifications:
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- 10 years' of relevant experience in systems engineering.
- Knowledge and understanding of SE&I processes, methodologies, tools, and technologies including model-based systems engineering.
- Knowledge of test principles, tools, and processes needed to develop test requirements.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection.
- Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings.
- Able to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision.
- Experience working in a team environment.
A Plus:
- Knowledge of Flight Hardware and/or Flight Processes/Paperwork.
- Experience with NASA processes.

Essential Functions:
- Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
- Physical Requirements: Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
- Equipment and Machines: Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
- Attendance: Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
