Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Avionics Network Engineer to join our team on the JSC Engineering, Technology, and Science (JETS) II contract. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing distributed network architectures for the Gateway Modular Spacecraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing the distributed network architecture for the Gateway Modular Spacecraft
  • Performing Requirements Development and Management
  • Performing Verification Testing
  • Performing other duties as required
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related field and a minimum of two (2) years of experience
  • Experience with either Avionic Electrical or Software Systems Design
  • Experience with the following major spacecraft systems and disciplines: Propulsion, Thermal, ECLSS, Power, Electrical Systems
  • Thorough knowledge of Computer Networking technology, including IEEE Ethernet standards, ARINC 664 Part 7 Aircraft Data Network, SAE AS 6802 Time Triggered Standard, Internet Protocol Suite, and Hardware Cabling Standards
  • Experience with Network Design, Network Management Tools, IT Security, and Network Troubleshooting Techniques
  • Familiarity with commercial products available in computer networking technology
  • Interpret network data captures, such as pcap files
Preferred Qualifications
  • Time Triggered Ethernet (TTE) experience
  • Experience with Time Triggered systems such as TDMA
  • Fault tolerance/reliability experience
  • Experience with spacecraft avionics and circuit design or analysis
  • Experience applying computer network technology in space systems
