  • Prepare and maintain a sterile environment in the operating room.
  • Assist in scrubbing for various surgical procedures, anticipating the needs of the surgical team.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of surgical instruments and procedures.
  • Support the Registered Nurse in circulating duties and ensure efficient operation room organization.
  • Exercise sound judgment in clinical situations and maintain accountability for decisions.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and maintain a positive atmosphere.
  • Organize work efficiently and assist colleagues as needed.
  • Act as a professional member of the surgical team, sharing knowledge and promoting teamwork.
  • Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Surgical Technology is preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technician is mandatory.
  • Registration with the State of Virginia is required.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position with day shifts and rotating weekends.
