Clinical Radiation Therapist Supervisor

As a Clinical Radiation Therapist Supervisor at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day operations of the Radiation Oncology Department. In this position, you will oversee the clinical treatment and treatment planning areas, ensuring that high-quality patient care is delivered in a timely and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities- Administer policies and procedures to ensure quality patient care and monitor compliance with department and organizational standards.
- Develop and implement clinical standards, procedures, and policies to ensure excellence in patient care.
- Supervise and develop a competent and motivated staff, providing training and development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Ensure effective communication channels are in place, advising personnel on operational, procedural, and organizational policy issues.
- Manage departmental resources, including financial and physical resources, to ensure cost-effectiveness and alignment with organizational needs.
- Monitor construction progress and purchasing activities for treatment and planning areas, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
- Conduct radiation safety surveys to minimize unnecessary radiation exposure, adhering to national, state, and county regulations.
- Develop and maintain accurate workload reports, identifying opportunities to improve productivity and effectiveness of administrative and clinical processes.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience as a Physicist, Radiation Therapist, or Certified Medical Dosimetrist, completed within the last three (3) years.
- Education: Medical Physicist Candidate - Master's or PhD in Medical Physics; Radiation Therapist/Dosimetrist Candidate - High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
- License, Certification, Registration: Radiologic Technologist Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Additional Requirements: Demonstrated ability to utilize knowledge of radiation oncology procedures, radiation protection, and clinical applications; ability to evaluate and recommend/purchase equipment; knowledge of radiation therapy clinical functions and procedures/treatments; and demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as a supervisor in a Radiation Oncology Department.
- Fluoroscopy License preferred.
This position is located at the Kaiser Permanente Radiation Center in Los Angeles, California. The work environment is fast-paced, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care in a team-oriented setting.
