Surgical Technologist III Cardiac Specialist

Tufts Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist III to join our team in the Operating Room. As a key member of our perioperative care team, you will be responsible for providing expert care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:
- Functions as a scrub technologist in the Operating Room, maintaining aseptic technique and ensuring the highest level of patient care.
- Assists the surgical team in preparing patients for surgery, including positioning, draping, and maintaining a safe environment.
- Participates in surgical counts and ensures accurate inventory of instruments and supplies.
- Manages intraoperative medications and surgical specimens according to hospital policy.
- Collaborates with the surgical team to ensure smooth and efficient surgical procedures.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of a training program for surgical technology or equivalent experience.
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in a surgical setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to lift and move patients and equipment as needed.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Skills and Abilities:
- Expert knowledge of aseptic technique and infection prevention practices.
- Advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
