Position Summary:

We are looking for motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our Soil Analysis Production team as Temporary Laboratory Technicians. This role involves high-throughput soil processing, including soil homogenization, slurry preparation, and subsampling for various analyses. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be crucial in meeting our operational demands. Additionally, you will assist in managing sample and material inventories to ensure efficient laboratory workflows.

In our collaborative environment, you will have the chance to work alongside experts in agriculture, analytics, microbiome studies, and molecular biology, enhancing your knowledge and contributing to innovative solutions that benefit our clients and team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct high-throughput processing of soil samples, including homogenization, slurry preparation, and subsampling.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment, including cleaning tools and equipment post-use.
  • Assist in the management of sample and material inventories to support laboratory functions.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company practices established by Trace Genomics.
  • Accurately document experimental procedures and results.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and innovative work atmosphere by sharing insights and solutions.
  • Perform additional tasks as required to support the team.

Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of scientific principles, including cross-contamination and precision.
  • Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to multitask and maintain a tidy workspace.
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and responsibility in previous roles.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods in a dynamic, sometimes dusty environment.
  • Prior experience in a laboratory setting is advantageous.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be at least 18 years old to apply.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in pipetting and familiarity with general laboratory equipment.
  • Experience with laboratory automation and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
