Key Responsibilities:
  • Address equipment failures, physical damage, and emergency situations to protect personnel and property. Familiarity with relevant procedures is essential.
  • Implement lockout/tagout protocols to guarantee safety during operations.
  • Accurately complete reports and maintain knowledge of local filing systems as necessary.
  • Engage in training to uphold qualifications and competencies.
  • Manage the processes of ordering, receiving, and transferring materials, alongside conducting physical inventory checks.
  • Collaborate with Area and Region teams to recommend spare parts levels for optimal maintenance and reduced downtime.
  • Assist in work planning and contribute to budget-related information as part of the annual budgeting cycle.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, sketches, and as-built documents.
  • Consistently adhere to safety protocols and actively participate in safety programs.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, fostering positive relationships with colleagues.
  • Maintain a professional image while interacting with external personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and external regulations, including those from the Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
  • Serve as a relief operator when necessary to cover absences and fulfill operational needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant training and experience.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, shifts, and travel as needed.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Must reside or be willing to relocate within a reasonable distance of the reporting location.
Preferred Skills:
  • A strong desire to learn and grow within the Pipeline Technician role.
  • Knowledge of pipeline maintenance and operational equipment.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrated technical and analytical skills through education or experience.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to contribute positively to a team-oriented environment that values integrity and openness.
  • Proven track record of safe work practices.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills while adhering to SOPs.
  • Willingness to take initiative and responsibility for resolving issues.
Physical and Cognitive Requirements:

Physical: The role involves various physical activities including balancing, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and repetitive motions.

Cognitive: Candidates must be able to understand and apply instructions, solve complex problems, and prioritize tasks effectively.
