Medical Lab Tech Job Description
We are seeking a per diem Medical Lab Tech to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a Medical Lab Tech, you will play a crucial role in our operations, covering a wide range of testing sections, including blood bank, coagulation, hematology, chemistry, and urinalysis.
Responsibilities:
- Instruct patients in preparing for tests that require fasting and answer their questions regarding the tests.
- Maintain equipment and investigate problems with equipment.
- Assist in teaching Clinical Laboratory Science students and Pathology residents and training of new employees.
- Monitor daily operation of laboratory section or work area.
- Participate on teams or individually perform special projects/assignments.
- Perform a variety of routine and standardized tests using standard techniques and equipment.
- Prepare specimens, resolve specimen problems, and perform analytical tests.
- Record results of tests and maintain records.
Requirements:
Associate's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technician, Chemical Science, or Biological Science. ASCP or AMT Board of Certification eligible and must receive BOC within a year.
Work Details:
Per diem, 10.00 hours per week, $20.88 - $30.02 per hour, onsite, variable work schedule, US:NC:Eden.
