The role of the Project Design Engineer involves taking the lead on various projects, interpreting client specifications, utilizing SOLIDWORKS for design tasks, and overseeing multiple projects along with shop work orders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Lead Designer on a range of projects, executing comprehensive mechanical systems design.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines, including structural, electrical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers to ensure design and scheduling alignment.
  • Record design decisions, meeting notes, and client instructions in a timely manner while tracking the progress of project designs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An Associate degree in Drafting from a technical institution, ideally with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in SOLIDWORKS or Inventor software.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD (2D) or DraftSight applications.
  • Proficient in the Office 365 product suite, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems.
  • Experience working with PDM/PLM systems.
  • Background in structural detailing or mechanical system design.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
