As a Patient Services Coordinator, your primary role will involve managing the patient check-in and check-out processes while ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors. You will engage in various administrative tasks essential for the smooth operation of our medical facility.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office setting
- Familiarity with Athena Health EMR system
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify and update patient records with precision, ensuring all registration data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Communicate effectively with the billing department regarding insurance modifications and inform nursing staff of patient arrivals.
- Assist with incoming calls and manage appointment scheduling, including rescheduling as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and welcoming waiting area for patients, monitoring lobby activity to minimize wait times.
- Perform check-out duties as needed, adapting to patient flow requirements.
- Schedule follow-up appointments, process charges, and collect co-pays and outstanding balances while ensuring accurate end-of-day financial reporting.
- Demonstrate flexibility by assisting with check-in duties during peak times and adjusting to varying schedules.
- Ensure all cash drawers balance at the end of each day and collect necessary payments.
- Provide an exceptional patient experience through attentive service and effective communication.
- Exhibit proficiency in all relevant Athena workflow processes.
