Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Neurosurgery Physician Assistant to join our team at Northwell Health. As a key member of our neurosurgery department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Responsibilities
  • Take initial patient histories and perform thorough physical examinations.
  • Initiate, document, and communicate the plan of care, ensuring complete screening and preparation of patients.
  • Perform daily patient rounds and write orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests.
  • Interpret laboratory and test results, and confer with attending physicians, residents, and other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care.
  • Upon discharge, note discharge summaries, prescriptions, and any referrals on patient charts, and inform patients of necessary post-discharge care instructions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree, required.
  • Graduate of an accredited program, required.
  • Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA) by the New York State Department of Education, required.
  • Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), required.
  • Current BLS certification, required.
Additional Information
