Position Summary

We are in search of a skilled Commercial/Industrial Boiler Technician to provide maintenance and repair services to our diverse clientele. This role involves diagnosing and resolving system issues, replacing components, and fine-tuning controls for optimal performance. The technician will also conduct maintenance and inspections for boiler compliance and collaborate with certified welders on repairs. The equipment serviced will encompass commercial and industrial boilers and burners across various applications.

Candidate Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required; trade/technical school or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in troubleshooting and servicing commercial and industrial boilers, with expertise in advanced control systems (e.g., Honeywell, Fireye, Siemens, Auto flame)
  • Strong familiarity with various boiler manufacturers including Clever-Brooks, Lochinvar, Hurst, Burnham, Triad, and Fulton
  • Proficient in different boiler and burner control systems
  • Comprehensive understanding of control circuit troubleshooting and commercial HVAC systems
  • Ability to pass criminal background checks and drug screenings
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required
Key Responsibilities
  • Install, start-up, and commission new and replacement commercial boiler systems, including associated components
  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on natural gas, propane, oil, and dual fuel burners, as well as steam systems and boilers
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing concerns, answering inquiries, and providing necessary training
  • Prepare boilers and related systems for inspections by certified inspectors
  • Acquire necessary trade-related hand tools for job performance

Physical Demands

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Regularly, the employee is required to communicate effectively, stand, walk, use hands for manipulation, and reach with arms. This position may require lifting of materials and supplies up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and may encounter fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and electrical hazards. The work environment may also include exposure to outside weather conditions, with occasional loud noise levels.
