Respiratory Care Specialist

The Respiratory Care Practitioner plays a vital role in the delivery of high-quality patient care at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. As a key member of the healthcare team, this individual will conduct patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, and provide general and basic patient care to patients of various ages and developmental needs.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify respiratory care needs
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet patient needs
- Provide general and basic patient care, including respiratory therapy and support
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery
- Follow hospital policies and procedures for handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment
- 1+ year experience as a CHLA RCP I or 2+ years critical care experience as an RCP
- Broad knowledge of respiratory care principles and equipment
- CHLA patient care policies and procedures
- Ability to assess patient care effectiveness and maintain a calm demeanor in crises
- Effective communication and prioritization skills
- Graduate of an A.M.A. approved two-year School of Respiratory Care
- RCP license from the state of California
- Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the NBRC
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) certifications
