About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Advocate to join our team at Datadog. As a Cloud Advocate, you will be responsible for translating our real-world experience into actionable insights for our user communities.

With a focus on containers and Kubernetes, you will have the opportunity to work with key leaders across the industry and broaden your impact to the cloud-native community at large.

This is a unique opportunity to leverage both your engineering and creative storytelling skills to shape the landscape in cloud observability and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create content in various formats to build Datadog's reputation as a leader in DevOps, Monitoring, Observability, and Security.
  • Partner with product engineering teams to build compelling demos and coach internal engineering teams on effective communication and presentation.
  • Interface with open-source communities to drive key messaging in the market and develop new integrations for Datadog.
  • Contribute to the product through feedback, documentation, or code.
Requirements
  • Approximately 5+ years of experience as a software developer, SRE, or other practitioner, with strong experience in container technologies.
  • Approximately 3+ years of experience in storytelling and creating compelling content.
  • You have publicly available writing samples, blog posts, demos, or recordings of presentations on technical topics.
  • You are comfortable with at least 2 programming languages and are familiar with modern infrastructure such as IaaS cloud services and containers.
  • You enjoy self-driven exploration and education on new technologies and languages.
Bonus Points
  • Service mesh experience (e.g., Istio, Envoy, Consul).
  • Experience with container/Kubernetes metrics and scaling (e.g., HPA/VPA, Kubernetes Metrics Server, cAdvisor).
  • You are already an active member of any communities in your region.
