We are seeking a highly skilled Developer Advocate to join our team at Datadog. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of cloud observability and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create engaging content to build Datadog's reputation as a leader in DevOps, Monitoring, Observability, and Security.
  • Partner with product engineering teams to develop compelling demos and coach internal engineering teams on effective communication and presentation.
  • Interface with open source communities to drive key messaging in the market and develop new integrations for Datadog.
  • Contribute to the product through feedback, documentation, or code.
Requirements
  • Approximately 5+ years of experience as a software developer, SRE, or other practitioner, with strong experience in container technologies.
  • Approximately 3+ years of experience in storytelling and creating compelling content.
  • Publicly available writing samples, blog posts, demos, or recordings of presentations on technical topics.
  • Comfortable with at least 2 programming languages and familiar with modern infrastructure such as IaaS cloud services and containers.
  • Enjoy self-driven exploration and education on new technologies and languages.
Bonus Points
  • Service mesh experience (e.g., Istio, Envoy, Consul).
  • Experience with container/Kubernetes metrics and scaling (e.g., HPA/VPA, Kubernetes Metrics Server, cAdvisor).
  • Already an active member of any communities in your region.
