Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to oversee all technical activities and customer interactions throughout the offer and execution phases of various projects.
The successful candidate will be part of the Thales Navigation and Non-Radar Surveillance (NAS) business segment, which is integral to the Thales Land and Air Systems Global Business Unit. Our solutions are utilized by a significant majority of aircraft globally, ensuring safe take-offs and landings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary technical liaison with internal and external customers, ensuring effective communication regarding technical coordination, solution architecture, performance, and project-related issues.
- Analyze technical components of tenders with support from the engineering team and other specialists.
- Define optimal solution configurations based on approved standards and perform analyses or simulations using customer installation site inputs.
- Prepare customer and project documentation, including configuration files that meet site and contract specifications.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to develop technical specifications and contribute to supplier statements of work, ensuring commitments on cost, schedule, and deliverables.
- Resolve technical issues on-site in partnership with field engineering teams, project managers, and customer service representatives.
- Support the services department by contributing to training sessions for end-users and assisting in the resolution of technical issues under warranty and service contracts.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Systems, Electrical, or Software Engineering, or a related technical field, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with at least 4 years of experience is required.
Proficiency in MS Office and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Visio) is essential, along with experience in network technologies and remote-control systems.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and negotiation skills to facilitate equipment acceptance and minimize project customization in alignment with Thales product policies.
Travel Requirements:
Travel is anticipated to be less than 10% annually, with trips that may be both domestic and international, typically lasting less than 5 days, and international trips extending up to 7 days.
