We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Project Manager Intern to join our team at Dennis Group. As a Project Manager Intern, you will assist in the successful delivery of projects from design concept through commissioning, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing projects from planning through commissioning, including developing key objectives and ensuring their achievement.
- Assist with the development of project scopes, budgets, schedules, and critical path elements.
- Coordinate with in-house and consulting design teams to ensure project deliverables are met.
- Manage permits, code, and regulatory approvals to ensure compliance.
- Help assemble and evaluate potential project bidders.
- Coordinate bid processes fairly and professionally.
- Maintain project needs lists and meeting notes.
- Develop and issue monthly reports.
- Update project forecasting tools monthly.
- Support efforts involving monthly supplier invoices and client billing.
- Aid in developing and maintaining submittal and RFI processes.
- Support the development of preliminary PM/Eng/CM/Start-up support cost estimates.
- Perform tasks related to food safety risk assessments.
- Organize construction trades and administer subcontracts.
- Assist in managing project budgets and expense approvals.
- Manage contract and change order administration.
- Support equipment installation activities.
- Interface with clients and project teams, working in client facilities and construction sites.
- Utilize multiple software programs, including MS Office, CAD, Navisworks, MS Project, and SharePoint.
Requirements:
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering.
- Experience with design-build, general contractor companies working with multiple in-house engineer disciplines, architects, designers, etc. is a plus.
- Basic understanding of AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software.
- Must meet overnight travel requirements of 30% to 50% of any given time.
- GPA: 3.0 or above.
- Past industrial construction management/project engineer experience is a plus, particularly in food and beverage, pharmaceutical, or sanitary environments.
- Experience using MS Project, Excel, and other MS programs.
- Be willing to work 10+ hours a day.
- Have a motivated and results-oriented attitude.
