Overview:

We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Systems Engineer to join our team at a leading financial healthcare company. This full-time role is fully remote, with preference given to candidates based in South Carolina or North Carolina.

The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience in AWS Cloud Engineering, with a focus on systems operations, automation, and security in regulated environments. Prior experience in healthcare, HIPAA compliance, and SOC audits is a significant plus.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud-based infrastructure, utilizing services such as EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS, and S3.
  2. Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment pipelines using Terraform, AWS CodePipeline, and other relevant tools.
  3. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and fault tolerance across AWS environments.
  4. Implement security best practices and compliance standards, including SOC audits, penetration testing, and HIPAA regulations.
  5. Collaborate with development teams to optimize workloads and ensure scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
  6. Develop and maintain scripts in Python for automation and system integration tasks.
  7. Administer databases, perform queries, and optimize SQL-based systems.
  8. Manage cloud operations using AWS SysOps tools and services.
  9. Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure, policies, and compliance protocols.
Qualifications:
  1. 4-6 years of experience in AWS Cloud Engineering, with strong hands-on experience in systems operations.
  2. Proficiency in AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, EC2, RDS, and CodePipeline.
  3. Strong scripting and automation skills using Python.
  4. Experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  5. Familiarity with SQL databases and ability to write and optimize queries.
  6. Understanding of compliance standards (HIPAA, SOC), security practices, and penetration testing.
  7. Experience in healthcare or financial environments is highly desirable.
  8. AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or AWS Certified Solutions Architect) is a plus.
  9. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Knowledge of healthcare compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA).
  2. Experience with SOC audit processes and security assessments.
  3. Familiarity with penetration testing methodologies.
