Role Summary:

The Clinical Nurse Specialist in Infusion Services is responsible for delivering both direct and indirect patient care to individuals and their families within the clinic setting. This role employs the nursing process, which includes comprehensive patient assessment, the development and execution of tailored nursing care plans, patient education, and ongoing evaluation of care effectiveness. The nurse will provide holistic and personalized care to all patients in the designated area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a coordinated interdisciplinary care plan that considers psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
  • Maintain effective communication and collaborative relationships with patients, their families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Adhere to established policies, industry standards, best practices, and relevant laws and regulations to ensure a high-quality patient experience.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and growth in nursing practice.

Qualifications:

Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Licensure & Certification:
Current RN license in California
BLS certification for Healthcare Providers

Department Specific Certifications:
OCN - Oncology Certified Nurse
ONS/ONCC - Oncology Nursing Society

Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of recent relevant nursing experience.

Skills and Competencies:
Proficient understanding of nursing theories, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
Familiarity with healthcare industry standards, safety protocols, and patient privacy regulations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey sensitive information clearly to diverse audiences.
Basic proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Records.

Work Schedule:
Days, Full Time, 8-hour shifts, with variable days and every other weekend required.

Position Status: Non-Exempt, Regular Employee, 32 hours per week.
