Job Title: Senior Thermal Processing Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Thermal Processing Engineer to join our dynamic team at CPM Holdings, Inc. This is a key role within our organization, working closely with a collaborative team-based selling model.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a small application engineering team and optimizing thermal processing systems for a wide range of equipment and product applications, including dryers, ovens, and roasting equipment. This role requires a deep understanding of thermodynamics and heat transfer to ensure product performance.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct customer technology needs assessments, align with engineering standards, technology decisions, and product sizing on a wide range of products.
  • Lead applications integration work for innovation and development projects.
  • Manage, develop, and provide technical guidance to 2-3 applications engineers.
  • Develop relationships with current and new EPC companies as a trusted advisor.
  • Conduct thermal analysis and simulations to optimize system performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, project management, and engineering, to define project requirements and technical specifications/solutions.
  • Conduct on-site process audits for customers to maximize efficiency of existing equipment.
  • Support customer and product testing in the Innovation Lab.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, competitive offerings, and regulatory changes.
  • Conduct product presentations to showcase the value of our solutions.
  • Clearly articulate CPM's technology offerings and value proposition at trade shows and customer meetings.
  • Provide feedback to improve existing offerings and opportunity areas for new product development.
  • Manage project timelines to ensure milestones and deliverables are met on schedule.
  • Responsive to requests and inquiries from internal and external customers.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of technical experience in food, thermal, industrial processing.
  • Experience leading complex projects and R&D activities.
  • Experience managing and developing others.
  • Experience with project development for EPC managed projects.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and process simulation tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team selling environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Must have thermal processing or industrial drying experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.
