Patient Safety Coordinator Registered Nurse RN

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Safety Coordinator Registered Nurse RN to join our quality team at Johnston-Willis Hospital. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in protecting patients from harm and developing strategies to prevent future harm through process improvement and staff education.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee patient safety activities to enhance and promote patient safety and quality care.
- Manage and analyze close calls and adverse patient events, conduct educational programs, lead clinical initiatives, and comply with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate in the annual review/revision of the organization's Patient Safety Program Plan, with responsibility for operationalizing the program.
- Participate in patient safety activities and act as a resource, internal consultant, and educator for patient safety issues.
- Participate in RCA (Root Cause Analysis), FMEA (Failure Mode and Event Analysis), lead investigations for serious adverse events, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a BSN (MSN preferred).
- Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
- Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) preferred.
- 4 years of clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of CMS, TJC, ISMP, NPSF, Leapfrog, IHI and other patient care related initiatives to improve outcomes.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance as it relates to patient safety.
