Patient Safety Coordinator RN

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Safety Coordinator Registered Nurse RN to join our quality team at Johnston-Willis Hospital, part of the nation's leading provider of healthcare services, HCA Healthcare.
This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care and safety. As a Patient Safety Coordinator RN, you will be responsible for mentoring and supporting our clinical team members to protect patients from harm and develop strategies to prevent future harm through process improvement and staff education.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee patient safety activities to enhance and promote patient safety and quality care.
- Manage and analyze close calls and adverse patient events, conduct educational programs, lead clinical initiatives, and comply with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with clinical disciplines to participate in patient safety activities and act as a resource, internal consultant, and educator for patient safety issues.
- Participate in RCA (Root Cause Analysis), FMEA (Failure Mode and Event Analysis), lead investigations for serious adverse events, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a BSN (MSN preferred).
- Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
- Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) preferred.
- 4 years of clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of CMS, TJC, ISMP, NPSF, Leapfrog, IHI and other patient care related initiatives to improve outcomes.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance as it relates to patient safety.
