The Public Sector Project Director plays a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of planning and executing enterprise software and services procurement for public sector clients. This position is integral in crafting and implementing an ERP procurement strategy, which encompasses defining project missions, goals, and objectives, gathering system requirements, and authoring Requests for Proposals (RFPs) or Requests for Information (RFIs). The Project Director also facilitates the vendor evaluation and selection process while maintaining impartiality towards vendors, software, and products.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the client through a structured solicitation and evaluation process, ensuring a clear statement of work and contract with a qualified solution provider.
  2. Support contract negotiations with awarded software providers and oversee the implementation engagement, including quality assurance, project management, and resource management.
  3. Demonstrate strong executive briefing skills, technical writing capabilities, and organizational skills, alongside a deep understanding of public sector procurement processes.
  4. Manage client relationships effectively, ensuring satisfaction throughout the engagement, and provide high-level expertise across various business and IT-related areas.
  5. Design and execute comprehensive procurement strategies, including drafting procurement documents and evaluation materials.
  6. Facilitate vendor presentations and coordinate the vendor evaluation process, providing expert insights and analysis as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Over ten years of experience in leading complex public sector IT projects, particularly in ERP.
  2. Proven track record in managing teams through all project phases and maintaining successful client relationships.
  3. Extensive knowledge of public sector procurement strategies and policies.
  4. Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
  5. Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex ideas in accessible terms to all management levels.
  6. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.

This role requires a strategic thinker who can navigate the complexities of public sector projects while fostering collaboration and ensuring successful outcomes.
