Maintenance Worker Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at Bowery Residents Committee. As a Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and integrity of our facilities, performing repairs and maintenance tasks, and ensuring the safety of our staff and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of interior and exterior facilities
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical work
  • Receive and store deliveries of maintenance and office supplies
  • Lift and move furniture and equipment as needed
  • Participate in fire drills and related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in building maintenance and/or building trades
  • Ability to read and follow instructions
  • Work efficiently as part of a team and/or independently
  • Ability to frequently lift/carry objects weighing up to 70 lbs
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to communicate in English
