Academic Community Program Manager

Reasons to Believe is a global, outreach-focused ministry dedicated to science apologetics. Our goal is to share the Christian message by illustrating that logical reasoning and scientific inquiry—including the latest findings—reinforce, rather than undermine, trust in the Bible's truth and faith in the personal, transcendent God revealed in both Scripture and nature.
We are in search of a full-time Academic Community Program Manager to offer administrative assistance to the Academic Community Program Department. This role is crucial in fulfilling the objectives of the Scholar Community, Apologetics Community, and Visiting Scholar Program. These initiatives aim to empower and provide a platform for scientists, theologians, medical professionals, philosophers, lay-apologists, and other experts to investigate the interplay between science and Christian faith, ultimately fostering openness to the gospel.
Key Responsibilities:
VISITING SCHOLAR PROGRAM
- Organize and maintain the Visiting Scholar master calendar in alignment with the strategic plan's annual objectives.
- Manage a database to monitor Visiting Scholar program activities (including creating and maintaining scholar files and tracking communications).
- Coordinate logistics for visiting scholars (e.g., arrange planning meetings, develop itineraries, order catering as needed, track expenses, and submit reimbursement reports).
- Oversee the upkeep and enhancement of the Visiting Scholar accommodations (including repairs, furniture updates, landscaping, and routine cleaning services).
- Organize and manage the Visiting Scholar office space (ensuring a welcoming environment and scheduling usage by local scholars).
- Administer Visiting Scholar web pages and biographies.
- Act as a logistical point of contact during scholar visits.
SCHOLAR COMMUNITY & APOLOGETICS COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
- Maintain databases to track activities within the Scholar Community and Apologetics Community.
- Support recruitment initiatives for the Scholar Community and Apologetics Community (including aiding community recruitment campaigns).
- Facilitate onboarding processes for new members (scheduling orientations, providing follow-up materials, and designing/updating resources as necessary).
- Coordinate and schedule community calls via Zoom (sending agendas, regular communications, and sharing recordings post-meeting).
- Organize and schedule webinars for the Scholar Community and Apologetics Community (4–6 times annually).
- Craft and distribute regular communications to the Scholar Community and Apologetics Community regarding relevant events and resources.
- Assist in developing new resources as the programs expand.
- Regularly update member information and incorporate data from annual reports.
- Prepare monthly summaries of new members for distribution to communities and staff, and collect and share testimonials as they arise.
- Manage Scholar Community web pages and biographies.
- Oversee microsites for the Apologetics Community and Scholar Community.
ADDITIONAL ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES
- Reconcile receipts related to Visiting Scholar reimbursements.
- Assist the department with special projects and assignments as required.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; comfortable interacting with individuals from diverse academic backgrounds.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up capabilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Good interpersonal skills; friendly demeanor.
- High level of computer proficiency; skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Airtable), Vimeo, and Canva.
- Creative thinker with the ability to engage with STEMM concepts.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Committed Christian.
- Aligned with the mission, vision, core values, and statement of faith of Reasons to Believe.
