Job Description:

This accounting role plays a critical part in the execution and coordination of Dimensional Fund Advisors, L.P.'s global operations, overseeing core reporting activities and driving continuous improvement and optimization of the Corporate Finance department responsible for internal and external financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate accurate and timely financial reports while meeting established deadlines, compiling data, analyzing trends, and preparing reports for management review.
  • Maintain and update existing Oracle Cloud Report inventory, providing support and training to colleagues on availability of reports and best practices.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on reporting software and systems, conducting thorough analysis of financial data to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collect, analyze, and validate data related to employee demographics, benefits enrollment, and other census-related information, preparing and submitting census reports in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and write detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements using Oracle Cloud tools (Financial Reporting Studio, Essbase, Smartview (ERP & EPM)), in compliance with Dimensional's Accounting Policies and internal management reporting guidelines.
  • Perform data validation and reconciliation to identify and resolve discrepancies, supporting the external audit processes (domestic and foreign audits) by providing necessary documentation, responding to inquiries, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Partner closely within Finance and with various departments to ensure alignment across the internal and external financial reporting landscape, assisting with the development of value-added management reporting to drive insights into financial and operating performance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in accounting, with public experience and CPA preferred.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel and experience with Essbase or Smartview a major plus.
  • Prior experience in financial reporting, audit support, or related areas preferred.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet tight deadlines, with self-motivation, results-driven, and a preference for working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Proven prioritization, time management, and project management skills, with effective written and interpersonal communication skills.
