Job Overview

Position Summary

This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our radar systems and involves a variety of responsibilities:

  • Support engineering teams in the operation, upkeep, calibration, troubleshooting, and enhancement of radar systems.
  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on radar equipment, diagnosing and rectifying complex electrical issues.
  • Assist in the design and modification of equipment, including drafting and testing.
  • Collaborate on improvement and modernization projects involving electrical systems and subsystems.
  • Provide operational support for transmitter functions, including routine warm-ups and range test operations.
  • Execute diagnostics and repairs on radar apparatus.
  • Manage maintenance schedules, spare parts, and inventory of equipment.
  • Prepare systems for mission execution and operational readiness.
  • Be available for occasional shift work to meet operational demands.
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned.

Key Qualifications

  • Proficient understanding of engineering practices, including:
    • Soldering techniques
    • Circuit board assembly
    • System-level troubleshooting with various testing equipment such as oscilloscopes and digital multi-meters.
  • Ability to interpret electronic schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with control systems and servo mechanisms.
  • Solid grasp of electrical theory and associated materials and equipment.
  • Effective communication skills for supplier interactions, material estimation, and technical documentation.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience Requirements

  • Associate degree in electronics or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant technical experience.
  • Journeyman Electrician License is preferred.
  • Desirable experience includes:
    • Hands-on experience with high-power generators or electro-mechanical systems.
    • Proficiency in cable assembly and termination.
    • Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC software and ladder logic.
    • Familiarity with software tools such as RSLinx and RSLogix.
    • Understanding of complex mechanical systems and large electric motors.

Additional Qualifications

  • Physical capability to handle equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 50 feet.
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed.
  • Certification as Climber II or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
  • Must be eligible for relocation and meet security clearance requirements.
