The Senior Process Engineer - Injection Molding plays a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing the injection molding operations. This role is essential for driving engineering projects focused on manufacturing processes, documentation, systems, procedures, equipment, and tooling.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to Process Engineers, Tool Room staff, Mold Technicians, Production Leads, and Machine Operators.
- Troubleshooting: Address mold challenges, adjust machine settings, verify auxiliary equipment configurations, and monitor various operations to ensure product quality and conformity.
- Implementation: Spearhead the introduction of new tooling, processes, and auxiliary equipment.
- Operational Analysis: Conduct thorough operational and financial assessments to recommend tooling and equipment enhancements aimed at improving manufacturing efficiency and reducing costs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead and mentor teams of engineers and technicians to execute impactful cost-saving initiatives that enhance plant financial performance.
- Problem Solving: Utilize analytical skills to investigate manufacturing challenges, identify root causes, and propose corrective actions to support ongoing operations.
- Process Improvement: Direct engineering efforts in the design, documentation, and execution of manufacturing processes to enhance capability, reliability, consistency, and throughput.
- World-Class Principles: Manage the application of T.Q.M., Kanban, Demand Flow, and Cellular Manufacturing methodologies to boost customer satisfaction and minimize waste.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols to prevent workplace injuries by following company and OSHA regulations, recognizing safety hazards, and using required personal protective equipment.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related responsibilities as necessary.
A Bachelor's degree in Plastics, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering is required, along with a minimum of five years of practical experience in setting up and operating injection molding machinery and auxiliary equipment, including robotics. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are essential. A robust technical background in injection molding processes, tooling, equipment, materials, manufacturing, and quality is necessary. Familiarity with statistical tools for troubleshooting and evaluating process performance is also required.
