The Project Engineer is a key member of our team, responsible for overseeing the execution of heavy civil construction projects from initial budget to project closeout.   • Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Project Planning: Read, understand, and plan according to work specifications and contract responsibilities.
  • Conflict Resolution: Anticipate and resolve project conflicts, implementing solutions to avoid issues.
  • Project Management: Understand and plan work according to project plans, change orders, shop drawings, subcontracts, purchase orders, and monthly pay estimates.
  • Subcontractor Management: Select and oversee subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Budget Management: Create, update, review, and maintain budget for structure segment.
  • Time Management: Generate solutions to stay on time and on budget.
  • Cost Control: Monitor the cost of equipment on the project segment and implement strategies to stay within budget.
  • Scheduling: Schedule the project segment in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines in P6 CPM.
  • Leadership: Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Field Operations: Oversee daily field activities leading to optimal progression of project segment with superintendents.
  • Communication: Present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure customer satisfaction by identifying and exceeding client needs.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or other related degree.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in heavy civil/roadway construction.
  • Skills: Superior construction knowledge, excellent personnel management skills, scheduling expertise, good knowledge and use of cost control procedures.
  • Travel: Willing to travel.
  • Software Proficiency: Moderate to high level of proficiency operating Primavera 6 CPM scheduling software, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications.
  • Math Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts, apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry, and understand construction math concepts.
  • Physical Demands: Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature, with some exposure to outdoors with changing weather conditions.
