About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced District Manager II to join our team at WM. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day collection operations of a single site or multiple sites, establishing and maintaining performance and productivity metrics and cost management processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the District's day-to-day operations and provide daily support to Route Managers in ensuring safety, service, and savings.
  • Execute necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations.
  • Ensure thorough root cause investigations for all injuries and incidents, following up with consistent coaching and retraining.
  • Oversee department personnel needs, including selecting, coaching, disciplining, and training employees and evaluating employee performance.
  • Formulate short-term and long-term goals and action plans in conjunction with the Senior District Manager and/or Director of Collection Operations.
  • Participate in regular P&L reviews to ensure that budgets are met; develop and implement programs for optimal equipment utilization, equipment maintenance, and labor and material costs.
  • Interact with local city, municipal, and county agencies to ensure customer satisfaction, improve efficiency, renew contracts, and negotiate new contracts.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree (accredited), High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and two (2) years relevant of work experience.
  • 4 years experience in a role with supervisory and/or P&L responsibility (in addition to education requirements).
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Experience in a position involving at least 2 of the following: operations, customer service, community relations, health and safety, financial and human resource function, experience as a supervisor or manager.
