Job Summary:

This role involves performing essential maintenance services on tractors, trailers, chassis, containers, and power equipment at various locations using a mobile service vehicle.

The position may require working outdoors under varying weather conditions and across different shifts, including nights and weekends, necessitating consistent attendance.


Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:


With supervision, execute fundamental preventive maintenance tasks such as tire changes, brake services, electrical diagnostics, and minor structural repairs on trailer chassis and sub-frames.

Adhere to all safety protocols while working at customer sites.
Operate the assigned service vehicle professionally and maintain cleanliness and proper inventory.
Complete work orders and documentation accurately following established guidelines.
Document any damage to company equipment to facilitate repair cost recovery.

Demonstrate basic skills in using cutting torches and welding equipment for minor chassis repairs, including patching trailer/container side panels and roofs to ensure water tightness.

Conduct annual trailer and brake inspections under the guidance of a certified technician as required.
Work shifts may vary based on operational needs.

Qualifications:
Minimum

Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old for equipment up to 10,000 lbs or 21 years old for equipment over 10,000 lbs.
Demonstrated skills and abilities through education, certifications, military service, or other relevant experiences.
Must possess a clean driving record in accordance with company standards.
Able to provide personal basic tools or purchase through the company’s tool program.
Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Able to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends as required.

Qualifications:


High School Diploma or GED equivalent with up to 1 year of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or a combination of education and experience, including military experience.

DOT certification for FHWA Inspections and Air Brakes.
Welding certification.
Forklift certification and experience.
EPA section 608 certification and refrigeration license.
Ability to effectively communicate and interpret ideas through various mediums.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Ability to utilize time and resources effectively.
Ability to meet physical demands (lift/move items up to 50 pounds).
Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE).
The expected starting pay range for this position is between $23.17-$34.75.

Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates located outside a 50-mile radius of the job.

This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.

Compensation:


Factors affecting starting pay may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position may qualify for annual bonuses and incentives based on company profitability or volume, in accordance with the terms of the company's bonus and incentive plans.
