Position Summary:
The selected candidates will play a vital role in assisting individuals within the resource room, guiding them through the process of submitting Unemployment Insurance applications and completing necessary verifications. Key responsibilities include:
- Facilitating the submission of unemployment claims and addressing inquiries related to outstanding tasks and weekly certifications.
- Inputting claimant information for unemployment benefits and providing support for in-person filings, verifications, and updates on web benefits and direct deposits.
- Conducting interviews to ascertain eligibility for non-separation claims.
- Identifying the appropriate state and federal unemployment programs based on prior employment history and claim specifics.
- Entering and verifying data on computer systems to ensure accuracy in claims and benefit payments.
- Managing forms related to lost checks, correcting claimant information, and addressing overpayments due to various discrepancies.
- Organizing and reviewing claims files and related documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Maintaining detailed records of claims processed on a daily and weekly basis.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- Exceptional customer service abilities.
- Strong organizational skills.
- The capability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- A typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
- Proficiency in computer operations.
