Position Overview

As a Radar Algorithms Engineer within our image formation team, you will have the exceptional chance to innovate and enhance algorithms and processing methodologies for our pioneering orbital MIMO radar imaging system. This vital role involves close collaboration with various teams, including algorithms, hardware, software, and product engineering, to expedite the evolution of image formation techniques into a robust cloud-based imagery production pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement tomographic synthetic aperture radar algorithms to generate high-fidelity 3D data products.
  • Collaborate with the software product team to efficiently integrate and deploy algorithms within our cloud-based image production framework.
  • Develop predictive tools for assessing the performance of 3D reconstruction algorithms based on the geometry of image collection.
  • Engage with the product team to gather insights on customer use cases and translate these into comprehensive system-level requirements.
  • Create and execute test plans and methodologies to ensure product quality aligns with user expectations.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in synthetic aperture radar digital signal processing and algorithm development.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Quick learner with a self-directed approach to acquiring new concepts.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and accountability.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, C/C++, and/or Python.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on radar image formation or digital signal processing.
  • Experience in deploying radar algorithms within production environments for at least 2 years.
  • Familiarity with signal processing for tomographic and interferometric SAR for 2+ years.
  • Experience with multi-static or multi-channel radar systems.
  • Knowledge of standards-based radar data formats such as CPHD and SICD.
  • Experience in adapting radar algorithms for parallel processing frameworks.
  • Expertise in stochastic and adaptive signal processing techniques.
  • Experience in leveraging AI/ML techniques to extract insights from SAR data products.
  • Understanding of radar phenomenology in complex scattering environments at fine spatial resolutions.
