We are seeking an experienced Water Resources Professional to join our team in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a key member of our water resources engineering and management team, you will be responsible for leading and assisting our growing team in identifying and spearheading business development opportunities in Utah's water resources.

The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience as a water resources engineering or management professional, with a strong track record in client management and technical leadership. Familiarity with Utah's water laws, water rights, and water banking is essential. Experience with Geographic Information Systems (ArcGIS pro and ArcGIS Online) and strong written communication skills are also required.

Responsibilities will include leading client and agency interactions, developing water resource engineering and management studies, evaluating hydrology, groundwater, water quality, and water demand data, and conducting field investigations. The successful candidate will also be responsible for performing simple to complex quantitative spreadsheet analyses and helping to broaden our reputation through publishing and visibility at prominent industry conferences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead client and agency interactions, including presenting technical information to state and local agencies and the public
  • Develop water resource engineering and management studies, including water banking, water rights, and managed aquifer recharge studies
  • Evaluate hydrology, groundwater, water quality, and water demand data in the context of water supply management
  • Conduct field investigations, including estimation of water use, well inspections, streamflow monitoring, and a range of related activities to support water resource projects
  • Perform simple to complex quantitative spreadsheet analyses
  • Help broaden our reputation through publishing and visibility at prominent industry conferences
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, natural resources science, watershed sciences, environmental management, or environmental science with an emphasis on water resources or a closely related discipline
  • At least 7 years of experience as a water resources engineering or management professional or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Familiarity with Utah's water laws, water rights, and water banking, including the Water Banking Act (Utah Code)
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E., P.G. CPESC, CPSWG)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in engineering, geology, natural resources science, watershed sciences, environmental management, or environmental science, with emphasis on water resources or closely related discipline
  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems (ArcGIS pro and ArcGIS Online)
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Experience with grant writing
