This position will play a pivotal role in leading and supporting our expanding team dedicated to addressing the challenges of water scarcity and management in the region.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will engage in a variety of technical and business development activities, specifically targeting projects that enhance water resource sustainability. Your responsibilities will include:
- Facilitating interactions with clients and regulatory agencies, including the presentation of technical data to stakeholders;
- Driving business development initiatives related to water resources, fostering staff growth, and providing mentorship;
- Conducting comprehensive studies in water resource engineering and management, focusing on areas such as water banking and rights;
- Analyzing hydrological data, groundwater levels, water quality, and demand metrics to inform water supply strategies;
- Interpreting water rights documentation in accordance with state regulations and legal precedents;
- Reviewing water usage data, including metering and land use records;
- Executing field investigations, which may involve assessing water usage, inspecting wells, and monitoring streamflow;
- Performing quantitative analyses using spreadsheets to support project objectives;
- Managing water right permitting processes, including new applications and administrative actions;
- Enhancing our industry reputation through publications and participation in key conferences.

Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, natural resources, environmental science, or a related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Professional registration (e.g., P.E., P.G.) is advantageous.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in water resource engineering or management is required.
- Familiarity with state water laws and rights, particularly the Water Banking Act, is essential.
- Demonstrated success in client management and technical leadership is preferred.
- Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a plus.
- Strong written communication skills are necessary.
- A valid U.S. driver's license and a clean driving record are required for business travel.
