Role Overview: You will be responsible for educating young individuals aged 16-24 in various welding techniques including SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW, adhering to the D structural welding code. This position allows you to impart valuable skills in a field that is consistently in demand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and instruct students in specified welding disciplines.
  • Encourage and support students in behavioral, educational, and personal development.
  • Collaborate with other staff to address challenges impacting student learning.
  • Design and implement lesson plans in line with established curriculum standards, suggesting improvements and additional resources as needed.
  • Ensure a well-organized, safe, and clean training environment.
  • Engage in student evaluation processes, maintaining accurate records using the Center Information System and other necessary documentation tools.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid Utah state teaching certificate with a welding endorsement or certifications such as Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Educator (CWE) from the American Welding Society (AWS), or NCCER Certified Craft Instructor. Must possess 6G Certification in SMAW and GMAW or FCAW-G, and have knowledge of the American Petroleum Institute (API) code.
  • Experience working with youth, along with strong communication skills and computer literacy.
  • A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
