Early-Career Geologist Position

We are seeking an Early-Career Geologist to join our team at Geosyntec Consultants. As a key member of our contaminated site assessment and remediation practice, you will have the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to real-world situations while learning the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.
Key Responsibilities- Support a wide variety of projects involving environmental investigations and remediation activities.
- Fieldwork such as soil, surface water, and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, aquifer testing, geophysical investigations, and remediation system O&M.
- Coordinate and implement field projects, oversee drilling, monitoring, sampling, and overseeing treatment system operations.
- Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation.
- Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, and implementation.
- Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting.
- Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures.
- Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
- Interface directly with project internal and external personnel including, but not limited to, principals, business operations personnel, clients, subcontractors, and regulators.
- Bachelor's degree in geology, hydrogeology, or related degree (required).
- Advanced degree in the same (preferred).
- Geologist in Training (GIT) certification or on track to obtain GIT (preferred).
- At least 2 years of professional services consulting experience that includes environmental field investigation, construction monitoring in the field, execution of Phase I/Phase II environmental assessments, evaluation of environmental data, and presentation of technical solutions (preferred).
- Prior internship experience in consulting (preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (required).
- Demonstrated strong interest in contaminant remediation and/or quantitative hydrogeology (preferred).
- Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers (preferred).
- Ability to multi-task and take directions with willingness to support multiple projects simultaneously (required).
- Regular field work and overnight travel (required).
