Staff Accountant Job Description

Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is a leading healthcare provider seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our Finance Department. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare bank reconciliations on a monthly basis to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and post monthly recurring journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Prepare account analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Medicare/Medicaid Cost Reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Reconcile Due to/Due From Related Party accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain a schedule of prepaid expenses and prepare monthly journal entries to expense the correct portion.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements to provide stakeholders with accurate financial information.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports as required by the US Census Bureau to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare NYS Voucher requests for reimbursement of C.N.A. training recertification costs on a semi-annual basis.
  • Maintain journal entry books in a neat and organized manner to ensure efficient financial record-keeping.
  • Assist Residents in the absence of the Patient Trust Clerk on an as-needed basis.
  • Assist with other office duties as needed to support the Finance Department.
