Clinical Direct Support Professional

Join our team at Independent Living Association, a leading provider of support services for individuals with developmental disabilities. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Direct Support Professional to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Clinical Direct Support Professional will provide medical support services to individuals with developmental disabilities, working closely with our facility nurse and psychologist to ensure the highest level of care. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate medical appointments and communicate results to the nurse, psychologist, and residence manager
  • Assist the nurse and psychologist in providing medical services to individuals, including scheduling and attending clinic appointments
  • Serve as a liaison between the nurse, psychologist, residence manager, and other stakeholders
  • Coordinate scheduling of follow-up appointments and ensure follow-up visits are carried out under the direction of the nurse
  • Prepare clinic consults and other required paperwork for appointments in the absence of the nurse
  • Coordinate and attend medical appointments under the direction of the nurse and/or residence manager
  • Maintain sufficient medication supply and equipment in the absence of the nurse
  • Report to the facility nurse, psychologist, and manager regarding appointments and follow-up information
  • Communicate with day programs regarding individual's medical appointments and changes in medical condition
  • Inform management if any additional supports are needed for individual's medical appointments
  • Accurately use Precision Care software to maintain and track individual's medical information

Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Proficient reading and writing skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid AMAP certification
  • Good employment standing

COVID-19 Protocols:

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - Wearing agency-approved face coverings/masks when entering the building and working within the program at all times
  • All staff are REQUIRED to participate in daily screenings prior to entering the building
  • Frequently wash & disinfect hands (using soap and water or hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol)
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Clean AND disinfect frequently touched surfaces (work stations, items, knobs, light switches, etc.)
  • Social distance – remain six feet between yourself and others when it is appropriate
